
What’s wrong with the U.S. gas industry?

(AP) With the federal government poised to approve billions of dollars in liquefied natural gas exports, the industry is fighting back with a campaign to keep the government out of their way.
The industry has launched a national lobbying campaign that includes TV ads and radio ads that say that President Donald Trump is undermining U.N. climate change negotiations and that a Trump-backed energy plan would hurt American jobs.
In the latest sign of the industry’s power, the president announced Tuesday that the Energy Department would not renew a $3 billion loan that was made possible by a $5.6 billion loan the U,S.
Congress approved last year.
